Version 2.4.2.0 has been released and can be downloaded from http://www.betdynamics.com/downloads/Th ... .4.2.0.exe
The software can be installed over the top of your existing installation. You can check that you have successfully upgraded as the title bar of will display version 2.4.2.0 when TheBetEngine is run.
If you have any problems when updating to the new version, please REBOOT your PC and attempt the upgrade once more.
Given the recent problems with the Betfair Results Service, this update is HIGHLY recommended. Support for versions prior to 2.4.2.0 will phase out over the next 2 weeks.
Additions
1. Tabs are now coloured according to their status:
Green - active in live mode
Gold - active in test mode
Red - stopped
Normal - inactive
2. Coloured tabs can be disabled through a new setting in Settings/General - Disable tab colours.
3. Entry fields that are disabled are now coloured grey (they are only shown in yellow if they are active).
4. The Rank field on the Criteria page is now enabled if you are in automatic mode and the "All Runners" option is selected. This allows you to be more creative in your usage of ranking - for example, you can select ALL horses except the favourite by setting a rank of 2-50.
5. A new option has been added to the General tab. You can now opt to Auto-Select all runners in all races when in manual mode. You can click on the adjacent load button if you want to auto-select the runners after the bot has been started.
6. Totally new way of getting results for AUS races which means that the restrictions on test mode on Australian races is all but removed! You will now find that all of the races are available in test mode.
7. New dutching option - max book. The book value must be LESS than the specified value for a bet to be placed [this defaults to 100%].
8. New file prefix - set the default prefix used when loading selections (useful if your tab name is different to the file that you are trying to load). If the prefix is blank, the name of the betting tab is used (as per normal).
9. Added a maximum liability to BSP betting. If the likely liability of a BSP bet exceeds this value, then the liability of the bet is restricted to the specified amount. The default is zero (which means that no liability cap is in place).
10. Lay Mixed staking plan has been added. This is a mixture of Level Stakes and Fixed Liability. If the odds are above a specified cut-off then a fixed stake is used; below the cut-off a fixed liability is used. There is a checkbox to reverse the check, resulting in a fixed stake being used below the cut-off and a fixed liability above the cut-off.
11. The horse filters have been extended to include the Forecast Odds from Sporting Life. You can now filter on a min and max value as well as the min and max amount of allowable movement (calculated as the difference between the current odds and the forecast odds). Set the entries to zero to ignore.
12. % Recovery staking plan has been altered to allow a bank % or target profit to be specified in preference to a default stake. A ratchet option has been added when using the bank %, and a profit per race option has been added when using the target profit. Target profit is for backing only.
13. HiPro86 SP4 staking plan added to the available lay staking plans.
14. Additional betting options added to Use Odds settings (Criteria tab):
Sure - specify the number of ticks below (back) or above (lay) the current odds that you want to place the bet at (helps getting matched)
Profit - specify the number of ticks above (back) or below (lay) the current odds that you want to place the bet at (helps to squeeze more profit but less chance of matching)
15. Added UAE to horse racing countries.
16. Ranking is no longer restricted to "odds" on manual systems. All of the different ranking systems (odds, index, matched for horses; odds, traps, matched for dogs) are now available when the Selection Type is set to Manual.
17. New setting added the General tab - Display horse numbers. Tick to show the saddlecloth numbers for UK/IRE racing. Note - you need to click on the associated Refresh button to make the saddlecloth numbers appear.
18. New setting added to the General tab - Sort by horse numbers. Tick to sort the runner grid by the saddlecloth numbers (UK/IRE racing). Note - you need to click on the associated Refresh button to sort by saddlecloth number.
19. New additions to the Settings/Diagnostic tab - RSS Timeout and RSS Attempts. Due to the recent problems with the Betfair Results Service, I have had to add some additional diagnostic flags to enable greater timeouts on the results gathering. If you experience problems in getting the results from Betfair, then you can adjust the RSS Timeout figure upwards. The default is set to 15 seconds; the maximum allowable value is 120 seconds.
Fixes
1. Extended odds check (i.e. using 2nd or 3rd best odds for checking) is now stored correctly in the configuration file.
2. The first tab is now displayed correctly when it is not selected (this affects version 2.3.9.1 only)
3. The redundant SD column has been removed from the betting log.
4. The redundant SD column has been removed from the CSV export.
5. Fixed a problem where errant Forecast markets on greyhound racing could stop the loading of races.
6. Fixed a problem where non-runners were not being removed from the selections list correctly (Thanks to thelongman for helping me find that particular nasty!)
7. Fixed a problem where zero In Play races in the UK/IRE prevented race loading from completing correctly.
8. Fixed a problem with column alignment in the standard CSV export function.
9. Fixed a problem where the place element of E/W bets were placed with zero odds if the market had not yet been initialised.
10. Fixed a problem where TBE would stop looking for qualifying selections too early when betting with the Fixed % staking plan.
11. When using a Use Odds setting of Exact, the odds entered are validated against the list of valid Betfair odds and adjusted (downwards) if required. For example, entering 12.1 into the box would result in the odds being set to 12.0 when validated. This is because bets need to be placed using valid Betfair odds. Any invalid values cause the bet to be rejected.
Changes
1. The database format has changed in this release (to enable changes for users outside of the UK).
2. The filters on the View Betting Log have changed - you can now select to filter on Local or UK time - and bets are only returned for the exact period requested.
3. Races that return an overall P/L are no longer considered as wins - from now on, nil returning races do not contribute to the win/loss/winning run/losing run counts.
4. The LowestOdds plug-in has been renamed LowestBackOdds. If you use this plug-in, you will need to re-enter the plug-in name in the settings (see Custom tab).
NOTES:
1. Because the database format has changed, TBE has to update the existing database. This can take a few minutes if the database is large in size. Please be patient and wait for the operation to complete.
2. Because the settings for the % Recovery staking plan have changed, please double check your settings!
3. Due to problems with Betfair Results Service, you are recommended to change the RSS Timeout value to 120 seconds on the Settings/Diagnostics tab - further advice will be issued when the problems with the Results Service are resolved.
