A new version of TheBetEngine has just been released. Updating is recommended.
To update your existing version, you should follow these simple instructions:
1. Close down the existing copy of TheBetEngine (if it is running).
2. Wait 1 minute (to allow all files to be saved) then reboot your machine to ensure that no errant processes are still running.
3. Download the new release from http://www.thebetengine.co.uk/downloads ... .6.6.0.exe
4. Double-click on the newly downloaded file to start the installation (you can safely install this version on top of the existing version)
Additions
1. New option (Events tab) to filter races by handicap/non-handicap status. This applies to UK/IRE racing only and acts as a quick filter for handicap or non-handicap races only. If one of the two checkboxes is ticked, then the races are filtered according to their handicap status. Both of the checkboxes should be un-ticked if you want the the full-blown filtering by race type to be carried out.
2. Due to recent changes in the way that Betfair tag races, some new race types have been added. The new race types added for horse racing include - Novice Handicap Chase, Novice Handicap Hurdle, Grade 3 Novice Chase, Grade 3 Novice Hurdle and Selling Handicap.
3. Added some new race types to greyhound races - B1-B6 and D1-D6.
4. Added some new race distances to greyhound races - 250m, 258m, 268m, 275m, 280m, 620m, 660m and 680m.
5. New setting in Settings/General - Use UK time on race grid. Directly at overseas users who want to display the start time of the race grid in UK time rather than the local time that is currently used.
6. New backing staking plan - Secure.
7. New backing staking plan - Banded.
8. New laying staking plan - Banded.
9. New option (Bet tab) - odds limit for E/W bets. If you specify an odds limit for the E/W bet then the place element of the bet will only be placed if the odds of the selection are greater than or equal to the specified odds limit (for back bets), or less than or equal to the specified odds (for lay bets).

1. Single digit odds received from OC are not always returned correctly.

1. As new race types and race distances have been added to the Events tab, you are advised to revisit any betting tabs that use active filters and ensure that the new race types/distances are added as required.
2. The handicap/non-handicap feature will only work with UK/IRE races and only if your copy of TBE is able to successfully download the race data (if your copy of TBE displays an RD indicator in the status bar then you are not able to download the data and the feature will not work)
3. The ability to update TheBetEngine automatically has been revamped and will be turned on again shortly. A description of the new functionality will be displayed when you start up TBE and you will be asked if you want to upgrade. If you choose to upgrade then the upgrade will be installed automatically, thereby cutting down the instances of updates being installed to different folders than the original installation!
4. OC continue to aggressively disable access to their web site for people who gather information on live odds but do not place bets through the OC service. This means that OC will not be a viable data source moving forward and OC functionality may be removed in a future release. In the meantime, if you do not use OC odds, then you are advised to disable them in Settings/Live Odds.

If you use any custom-built plugins, please contact me for updated versions. The current versions will NOT work with this release of TheBetEngine.
