A new version of TheBetEngine has just been released. Updating is recommended.

This update will become mandatory at the end of this week due to impending changes at Betfair.

This update has been uploaded to the auto-update servers, so you should be prompted to upgrade.

If you have an issue with the automatic update, or you prefer to update manually, you should follow these simple instructions:

1. Close down the existing copy of TheBetEngine (if it is running).
2. Wait 1 minute (to allow all files to be saved) then reboot your machine to ensure that no errant processes are still running.
3. Download the new release from http://www.thebetengine.co.uk/downloads ... .8.1.6.exe
4. Double-click on the newly downloaded file to start the installation (you can safely install this version on top of the existing version)

Additions
1. Added new race types - Grd3 Hcap Chs and Grd3 Hcap Hrd
2. Added the ability to calculate stakes using current market odds when placing bets with Use Odds set to either BSP or Exact

Fixes
1. Implemented a workaround to deal with some API timeouts when the API is unstable.
2. Fixed an issue where Last Rank values were not being respected when there were non-runners in a race.
3. Fixed an issue where evaluation of a race failed silently when Snaphot 2 - Check one time only was ticked and snapshots were disabled.
4. Individual genders were not being saved correctly in the latest version of the AdvGenderCheck plugin.
5. Force early saving of the configuration file when the Shutdown feature so that the file is guaranteed to be saved before shutdown.
6. Fixed an issue where the snapshot time was beign treated as a UTC time and not a local time (only became obvious once we moved to BST)

Changes
1. Implemented communications changes required for pending update to the API-NG.
2. The login process now accepts passwords with non-alphanumeric characters.


Note - if you experience any problems with TBE after installing the new version, please perform a manual installation as per the instructions above.

If, after installing the new version of TBE, you get a "Unable to connect to Betfair message" (and this is repeated each time you attempt to log in), then the most likely cause is that you do not have the full version of the .Net Framework 4.0 installed on your machine.

You should download and install the full .Net Framework 4.0 from https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/downloa ... x?id=17851

A new release of TBE will be made shortly to reduce the dependence on the full framework, but installing it is still recommended.

Note - most new machines have the framework installed by default, so the problem largely exists on older machines (like those running Windows XP).
