*** ALL USERS WILL NEED TO UPDATE TO THIS VERSION BY 7TH FEBRUARY IN ORDER TO CONTINUE TO USE TBE ***
Please note - if you rely on any custom plugins (for example, the ExponentialBet InPlay BETA plugin) then you will need to download and install the update from the vendor's website. Updating from here will disable your plugin.
Due to security changes being mandated by Betfair, a new version of TheBetEngine has just been released.
To update manually, you should follow these simple instructions:
1. Close down the existing copy of TheBetEngine (if it is running).
2. Wait 1 minute (to allow all files to be saved) then reboot your machine to ensure that no errant processes are still running.
3. Download the new release from http://www.thebetengine.co.uk/downloads ... .9.5.0.exe
4. Double-click on the newly downloaded file to start the installation (you can safely install this version on top of the existing version)
Changes
1. Updated communications security protocols to meet new standards being mandated by Betfair.
2. Live odds are now re-instated (previously they were suspended due to security changes on the Sporting Life website)
Notes
1. The security changes mandated by Betfair may require your Windows PC to be updated with the latest version of the Microsoft .Net Framework. If this is necessary, the installer will inform you and point you to a download link on the Microsoft website. If you wish to update this manually, then the required link is https://dotnet.microsoft.com/download/d ... ime/net472
2. If you get a "missing database" message after the update, then it is likely that you have installed the upgrade into a different folder to where TBE was previously located. You will need to locate the folder containing the previous version and then perform the upgrade again using the located folder as the target for the installation.
3. The TBE manual still needs to be updated - this will be released in the next couple of days and will be downloadable from the website at http://www.thebetengine.co.uk/downloads.htm
