Betfair have made an unannounced change to the way that they treat Irish place markets.
For the past 10+ years, the place markets (i.e. the To Be Placed market and not the 2TBP, 3TBP, 4TBP, 5TBP markets) have been available the night before. However, Betfair have now decided that they will not load the Irish place markets until 9am on the day of racing, citing liquidity as their main reason.
The change now means that Irish place markets will no longer be loaded when TBE rolls over to a new day at midnight. Instead, in order to load the markets, you will need to click on the Reload Current Day button after 9am each day.
I will look at implementing some kind of automatic reload within TBE but this needs to handled with a degree of caution.
I have asked Betfair to review this change. Citing liquidity as the determining factor makes no sense. We are talking about some of the major horse racing markets and they often have football matches in obscure countries listed on the Exchange with zero liquidity!
