This is some general advice on setting up a new system in TheBetEngine - hopefully advice that will guide you through the process.
1. CLICK ON RESET ALL (bottom right hand corner of the betting tab) - this resets all criteria to their default state and ensures you are working from a clean sheet.
Set up the High Level Details
1. Name your system by double clicking on the tab label and entering the system name.
2. Decide on whether you are betting on the horses or the greyhounds (or both) - then tick the appropriate checkboxes underneath the race grid.
3. Decide on whether you are backing on laying - then set the Bet Type (right hand side of the betting tab)
4. Decide on your staking plan - then set it in the Staking dropdown box (then click on Configure and set-up the parameters, e.g. stake, for that particular plan)
5. Decide on any limits that apply to your system (e.g. a profit target, or stop loss) - then set the appropriate values in the Limits area.
Set up the Low Level Details
1. Decide what races you want to include it the race grid and then set up the relevant filters on the Events tab.
2. Decide on whether your are placing bets based on the ranking on the runner (i.e. automatic bets) or manual bets - then set the Selection Type on the Ranking tab.
3. Determine how you want to rank the runners - then apply on the Ranking tab.
4. If you are placing automatic bets, select which ranked runners you want to bet on using the Favs tab.
5. If you want to bet only if the runners fall within a certain odds range, then set this up on the Criteria tab.
6. If multiple runners must fall into certain odds ranges (e.g. bet on 1st fav only if the 2nd and 3rd favs have odds greater than 5.0), then set these up on the Ranges tab.
7. If you are betting on horses and want to filter by age, weight, dslr, etc then apply the desired settings on the Filters tab.
8. If you want to bet on Steamers or Drifters, then use the Snapshots tab.
9. Set the betting time and the odds to bet with on the Bet tab.
10. If you want to dutch multiple runners, then set this up on the Dutch tab.
In essence, you are setting up your betting criteria by working from left to right across the various tabs in the Betting Criteria area. Remember, "less is more", so you only need to set up the actual settings you are interested in. Leave all the other settings at their default values.
Working logically across the betting criteria tabs makes it straightforward to specify your system, so take your time and consider your options.
It is always a good plan to test out your new criteria/staking in TEST mode - that way you can fine-tune the system settings before committing any real money.
