A recent update to the AVG anti-virus product appears to cause a contention with TheBetEngine.
When AVG 2014 and TheBetEngine are running together, the CPU utilisatiion of the AVG product goes to 100%, dramatically slowing down the user response times on the PC.
To workaround this issue, you need to enter an exception into AVG so that it no longer tries to interact with TheBetEngine.
To enter the exception, please do the following:
1. Select the Options menu
2. Click on Exceptions.
3. Add a new FILE exception and set the file path to C:\BetDynamics\TheBetEngine\TheBetEngine.exe (assuming you have installed TBE in the default folder)
4. Find "Use this exception for" and TICK Resident Shield, Identity Protection and Scan
5. Click on OK
