Betfair will be retiring its current API (API version 6) with effect from the 1st November 2014 and cutting over to its new version API (API-NG).
So, on the 1st November, all existing bots that use the current API will cease to work.
You will be glad to know that a new version of TheBetEngine, that is compatible with the new API-NG, has been produced. This version is currently undergoing testing and is also being actively validated and accredited by Betfair. It is my intention to release the new version BEFORE the 1st November, so that your use of TBE is uninterrupted.
I'll add posts to this thread as and when I have more news on the new version or feedback from Betfair.

Good news.
The new API-NG version of TheBetEngine has been accredited by Betfair this morning.
Version 2.8.0.0 should be released to existing customers over the next 2 weeks, such that you are operational on the new API before the old API is retired (turned-off) on the 1st November.

On the 1st November, Betfair will be shutting down the old v6 API (Applications Programming Interface) and introducing the new API-NG. At this point ALL bots that are written to operate against the old API will cease to work.
A new version of TheBetEngine (version 2.8.0.0) has been produced and has been accredited by Betfair for use against the new API-NG. This version will be rolled out to all users before the 1st November.
Functionally, the new version is the same as the old version (2.7.0.4) with two known provisos:
What does all this mean for me?
In order to carry on betting, you MUST update your copy of TheBetEngine to version 2.8.0.0 BEFORE the 1st November.
Later this week, a download link will be sent out to the new version of the software. This will allow you to manually update to the new version. You are advised to update at the earliest opportunity to ensure that you are fully up and running before the 1st November deadline.
Timetable of events
On Friday 17th October, the subscription pages will be taken down and no new subscriptions will be processed until November.
On Monday 20th October, the authentication servers will be updated with the new version of the software and anyone running version 2.6.2.2 or later will be prompted to update.
On Thursday 30th October, the authentication servers will be updated to make the new version of the software mandatory. At this point you will need to update or TheBetEngine will refuse to run.
If you are still running a version of TheBetEngine that is older than version 2.6.2.2 then you will need to update your copy of TheBetEngine manually.
Technical Changes
The new version of TheBetEngine now requires that the .Net Framework version 4.0 be installed on your machine (previous versions used .Net Framework 3.5). You will need to check that this is installed before updating to the new version of TheBetEngine.
Most modern PC's already have this framework installed, but if you need to install it, then a link to a downloadable version of the .Net Framework 4.0 will be included in the email that will be sent out later this week.

Due to problems with the new API-NG and Betfair Australia, Betfair have decided to change the cutover date from the 1st November to the 10th November.
As a consequence, we have suspended rollout of the new API-NG version of TBE (version 2.8.0.4) and we will re-instate it to the update servers around the 3rd November.
