A new version of TheBetEngine has just been released. This version is accredited by Betfair for use against the new Betfair API-NG. Updating is recommended.
This new version will be uploaded to the auto-update servers on the 21st October, so anyone running version 2.6.6.2 or later should be automatically notified of the upgrade at that point.
On the 27th October, this release will become mandated as Betfair are retiring their existing API on the 1st November. All bots written for the current API will cease to function on the 1st November.
If you are running on a standard installation, and you do not have multiple licences for TheBetEngine, you are encouraged to upgrade before the 21st October via the manual process outlined below. If you have installed TheBetEngine to a non-standard folder, or you are running multiple licensed copies, then you are advised to wait for the update to be prompted on the 21st.
If, after installing the new version, you are prompted to enter an activation code, please contact Support via the web site so that an activation code can be supplied.
To update your existing version manually, you should follow these simple instructions:
1. Close down the existing copy of TheBetEngine (if it is running).
2. Wait 1 minute (to allow all files to be saved) then reboot your machine to ensure that no errant processes are still running.
3. Download the new release from http://www.thebetengine.co.uk/downloads ... .8.0.0.exe
4. Double-click on the newly downloaded file to start the installation (you can safely install this version on top of the existing version)
